Dear Van,

Did you know that "Van" is my Uncle George's middle name and and I almost ended up with it as my name? Great name, man! I'm going to ask my colleague Doreen Do to add your letter to the list about the treatment of gay meta-humans, as it lends wonderful food for thought to the debate.

By the way, unless I'm mixing up your said HEROES incident with another, I believe she was going to have a MALE GAY FRIEND CHEERLEAEDER that they ultimately wussed out on and withdrew. At the time, news of the event made it all over the trades. Kinda frightening, how it was handled. I believe the manager gave some hoo-ha about how the actor didn't want to by typecast as a an actor who could only play gay parts.

How'd that work out?

Anyone out there heard of this male cheerleader actor since?

(Watch it be the guy fro TWILIGHT!!!!!)

Write in and let me know. Thanks for the letter, Van!

All the best,
Perry

For your Gay superhero list: Towards the end, you''ve got a list of TV adaptations about Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman... One that you missed is Smallville, about Clark Kent''s teenage days, which has one lesbian villain, and an anonymous male character saying, "I''m scoring big points with the boyfriend!" The lesbian is a shapeshifter named Tina Greer, who is in two episodes. The first episode she attempts to take the over life of Lana Lang, of whom she is very jealous. In the second episode, which takes place about a year later, Tina escapes her prison to take the place of Lana Lang''s recently killed boyfriend, because she is in love with Lang. Episodes: X-Ray(2001) Visage(2003) The Cure(2008) http://www.gaytvblog.com/2008/01/smallville---co.html I''d also like to mention that there was supposed to be a lesbian cheerleader named April in season 2 of HEROES, but the actress got another job offer.
